Outdoor Carpet Tiles Overview

Outdoor areas such as decks, garages and porches (or sun porches), can be hard to cover. There is a distinct possibility that part of the floor could be damaged by oil or pets or muddy weather. Outdoor carpet tiles can be a terrific solution.

Carpet tiles can be used almost anywhere — home offices, recreation or media rooms, and kid’s bedrooms. With a straight edge or ruler and a knife, anyone can install outdoor carpet tiles. They are a great alternative and easier for the DYI person, over a regular roll of carpet, that’s for sure!

Nothing can make you perspire more than kicking and stretching a heavy roll of carpet to lay it down. Then, what if you accidentally lean back and put your palm on a tack strip? Ouch! That’ll get you off the floor quicker than you ever thought possible.

Always check the arrow on the back of your outdoor carpet tiles so that you can line up the pile and have it go in one direction. If you don’t, then it’ll look like a bad mohawk haircut.

Of course, if done in a checkerboard pattern, this method can provide a contrast between the pile, even though it’s the same color.
