You may have just picked up a great deal on a load of carpet tiles, then started to wonder how to clean them. It’s not complicated and we have a few tips to help you when cleaning carpet tiles is on your mind.
The first and most important thing to remember is to vacuum regularly. If you get a spill, then work from the edge to the center so you don’t mash any of the liquid into the clean parts of the tile. Of course, if you’d rather not spend time cleaning carpet tiles, or when when there’s a deep stain that can’t be removed, it’s easy to just whip out the tile and replace it.
If you leaned over to talk to someone while holding a glass of wine, grab a few paper towels or other absorbent paper, put them on the stain and weigh them down, by standing on top, for example. After most of the liquid is absorbed in the paper, you can finish cleaning the carpet tiles by picking them up and rinsing them under running water. Use mild soap and a brush if you have to.
Always rinse out any soap and dry the tile. You can let the tiles dry naturally outside but don’t place them near a heat source or you can end up damaging them.
Make sure that a tile is dry before replacing it, or they could end up developing mold. That’s about it – carpet tiles are one of the easiest types of woven flooring to clean and maintain.
Finally, just in case there is a spill or other damage that can’t be cleaned off, it’s a good idea to buy replacement tiles in advance, especially if these are clearance carpet tiles and keeping a few on hand won’t cost you too much extra money.
